Frequently Asked Questions
Output to an external equipment

Q.

Can the signals be digitally outputted when the tracks on the HDD are being played?

A.

Yes. When you input them into the external equipment such as an amplifier, and play back, it is exactly same as playing ordinary CDs.
However when you record these digital signals using external equipment such as MD or CD recorders, not all data may be recorded, if it does not meet the SCMS standards.
For example, although you can play the data that has been digitally copied from a CD to the HDD, you cannot record it to an MD by connecting an MD recorder.

Q.

Track markers cannot be placed when recording the digital output signals from the HDD to external digital equipment.

A.

Track markers may not be recorded correctly because the digital output signals from the HDD does not include the information about track markers.
