Frequently Asked Questions
Recording from CD

Q.

I finished "Store from CD", but the recorded songs can't playback immediately on a MusicCAST client.

A.

MP3 encoding has not finished. Wait until the "*" marks next to the song title are gone.

Q.

"Store from CD" is working but it seems very slow.

A.

If the CD is a protected digital copy using SCMS, MusicCAST server rips it at 1x time speed.
If the CD has many scratches, stains or other imperfections, it is hard to read. In this case the MusicCAST server reduces the ripping speed.
When the MusicCAST server is distributing music data to it's clients, the MusicCAST server reduces the CD ripping speed.

Q.

I can't record MP3 songs from a CD-ROM.

A.

It's normal. The MusicCAST server can't directly record the MP3 data.

Q.

Sometimes the recorded album titles or song names are incorrect.

A.

Using "CD Auto Store" mode, the MusicCAST server obtains all information from the CDDB database. Sometimes one CD has some additional information, and in this case the MusicCAST server selects the most popular one automatically, and you can't modify it at the moment.

The Manual recording allows you to enter correct information.
