What discs can be used for recording with this unit?

A.

CD-R discs for music use that comply with the CD standards
CD-RW discs for music use that comply with the CD standards

*For recording, be sure to use the discs that bear the marks shown above.
*CD-R/RW discs intended for recording PC data cannot be used.
*CD-R/RW discs for professional use cannot be used.


 

Q.

What CDDA music discs can be played on this unit?

A.

Commercially available CD-R, CD-RW discs bearing the following marks

*Discs that do not comply with the CD standards may not operate properly.
*Some PC-use CD-R/RW discs that have music recorded and finalized on them may not play properly.


 

Q.

Can MP3 data CD's be played back?

A.

Yes.

The MusicCAST server can playback MP3 CDs that meet the following specifications:

  • ISO 9660 level 1 or 2 multi-session Juliet/Romeo format (the MusicCAST server is not packet-write capable)
  • A maximum of eight folder levels
  • A maximum of 300 files, with an .MP3 or .mp3 extension
  • MPEG-1 layer 3, all bit-rates (32 kbps to 320 kbps)
    NOTE: For Variable Bit Rate discs, bit-rate and/or time information may not be correctly displayed.
  • ID3 tag version 1.1 capable


 

Q.

Can other data CD's, such as WMA or AAC format, be played back?

A.

No.
