Jeff Franzel

Biography

Jeff Franzel is a multi-talented songwriter and pianist with over 35 years in the music business.

He performed with Les Brown's big band and during that time he accompanied Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr. and Mel Torme.

Recently Jeff recorded an EPK at the Snowbasin Jazz Festival with his Jazz Quintet. He has also been touring with The Countrypolitan Duets project throughout the country. Jeff arranged country standards in a jazz style for the project which features Keith Urban, Lady Antebellum and The Rascal Flatts. Jeff was also music director for Debra Cox and Hayley Westenra.

Jeff has written pop songs for such diverse artists as Josh Groban, 'NSync, Placido Domingo, Shawn Colvin, Taylor Dayne, Clay Aiken and Dianne Reeves. Jeff's songs have been featured on over 20 platinum records in the US and other countries. He currently has a #1 single in HongKong and in the last year he has had 3 top 5 singles with South African artist Elvis Blue. Elvis's next two singles were written by Jeff and he currently has the single with South Africa's pop idol finalist Mark Haze. Jeff's song Change which he co-wrote with Alex York debuted in the top ten this month in Japan.

Jeff recently recorded a CD with his jazz quintet in NY which is called "Taken By Surprise".

He is currently performing every Tuesday night at The Tangled Vine in New York City.
