Individual Song Channel (Track) Parameters such as Voice, Volume, Pan, Tempo,
etc. can be changed by selecting the 'MIXING CONSOLE' function from the 'SET
UP' page in 'SONG CREATOR'. The TYROS also has an 'Auto Revoice' feature (see
Using the Automatic Revoicing Feature with Pre-recorded SMF Song Files) which lets the user automatically substitute
the higher-quality TYROS Voices for GM or XG Voices on a Standard MIDI File
(SMF).
The steps below show how to manually revoice songs.
Loading a Song:
Insert a floppy disk containing a Standard MIDI File Song (.mid
file extension) into the TYROS.
Press a 'SONG' button, [I] - [VI], to select a Song
bank.
Use the [BACK] and [NEXT] buttons to display the 'FD'
page in the screen.
Use the [A] - [J] buttons to select a desired Song.
Press the [DIGITAL RECORDING] button.
Press the [A] button to select 'SONG CREATOR'.
Revoicing Different Channels Manually:
Use the [BACK] and [NEXT] buttons to display the '1-16'
page in the screen.
Select the 'Prog' number for the original Voice (to be replaced).
Press the '7' [v] toggle button under the screen to delete
it.
Press the [BACK] button two times to display the 'CHANNEL'
page in the screen.
Use the [A] and [B] buttons to select 'SET UP' in the
screen.
Press the [MIXING CONSOLE] button.
Use the [BACK] and [NEXT] buttons to display the 'VOL/VOICE'
page in the screen.
Press the [MIXING CONSOLE] button repeatedly to select Channels
1 - 8 or Channels 9 - 16 at the bottom of the screen ('CH1~8' or 'CH9~16' will
display at the top of the screen).
Press the [C] button to select the 'VOICE' section in the
screen.
Press the [^] toggle button for a desired Channel and select
a new Voice.
NOTE: If XG Voices from the TYROS are desired, click
here for 'Selecting GM and XG Voices from the
Front Panel of a TYROS'.
When finished revoicing, press the [EXIT] button repeatedly
to return to the 'SONG CREATOR' screen.
Saving the Edited Song:
Press the [I] button to select 'SAVE'.
Use the [BACK] and [NEXT] buttons to select the destination.
Press the '6' [v] toggle button to select 'SAVE'.
If necessary, rename the Song using the toggle buttons under the
screen.
Press the '8' [^] toggle button to select 'OK' and save the
Song.
If the original Song name is not altered, press the [F] LCD
button to select 'YES' to overwrite the old version of the Song with the new
one.
