TYROS

Using the Automatic Revoicing Feature with Pre-recorded SMF Song Files

The TYROS has an 'Auto Revoice' feature, which lets the user automatically substitute the higher-quality TYROS Voices for GM or XG Voices on a Standard MIDI File (SMF).

Individual Song Channel (Track) Parameters such as Voice, Volume, Pan, Tempo, etc. can also be changed by selecting the 'MIXING CONSOLE' function from the 'SET UP' page in 'SONG CREATOR'. For more information see Revoicing Pre-recorded SMF Song Files on a TYROS

The steps below show how to use the 'Auto Revoice' feature.
Loading a Song:

  1. Insert a floppy disk containing a Standard MIDI File Song (.mid file extension) into the TYROS.
  2. Press a 'SONG' button, [I] - [VI], to select a Song bank.
  3. Use the [BACK] and [NEXT] buttons to display the 'FD' page in the screen.
  4. Use the [A] - [J] buttons to select a desired Song.
  5. Press the [DIGITAL RECORDING] button.
  6. Press the [A] button to select 'SONG CREATOR'.

Using 'Auto Revoice' to Automatically 'Revoice' the Original GM or XG Voices in the File to Higher-quality TYROS Voices:

  1. Use the [BACK] and [NEXT] buttons to display the 'CHANNEL' page in the screen.
  2. Use the [A] and [B] buttons to select 'SET UP' in the screen.
  3. Press the [MIXING CONSOLE] button.
  4. Press the [F] button to select 'SONG AUTO REVOICE: ON'.
  5. Press the [G] button to select 'SETUP' in the screen.
  6. Use the [F], [I], and [J] buttons to revoice the desired Channels.
  7. When finished, press the '8' Up Button toggle button to select 'OK'.
  8. Press the [EXIT] button to return to the 'SONG CREATOR' screen.
