Recording Vocals

Using the Integrated Sampling feature, audio tracks for things like vocals and instrumental solos can be recorded directly into the Motif6/7/8.

NOTE: The 4MB of memory that the unit comes with will only sample for approximately 22 seconds. To get the maximum 6.5 minutes of sampling time, two SIMMs chips of 32MB each must be installed.
  1. From SONG or PATTERN mode, press the [INTEGRATED SAMPLING] button.
  2. Press the [F1] 'DEST' button and select a destination Track.
  3. Press the [F2] 'SOURCE' button.
  4. Select 'Sample+Note' for the Type.
  5. Select 'A/D' for the Source.
  6. Press the [F6] 'REC' button.
  7. Dial 'level' for the 'Trigger Mode'.
  8. Dial '1' for the Trigger Level.
  9. Press the [F6] 'REC' button again, or just start singing to begin recording.
  10. Press the [F6] button to stop recording.
  11. Press the [SONG] button and play back the Song to hear the recording.
  12. Record audio to other Tracks by repeating steps 1 - 11.
