Recording and Saving a Song on a PSR1100 and PSR2100

The PSR1100/PSR2100 can record Songs with up to 16 separate Tracks, each Track can record a different Voice. There are two methods for recording; 'Quick Recording' is for recording a Song in one or two takes and 'Multi Recording' is for recording multiple tracks in as few as one Track at a time.
Quick Recording:
  1. Press and hold the [REC] button, while pressing the TOP]button located in the 'SONG' section of the front panel to create a new Song. Release the buttons.
  2. Select a Style and Voice.
  3. Press and hold the [REC] button, while pressing one of the Track buttons, 'TRACK1', 'TRACK2' or 'EXTRA TRACKS' to select the Tracks that are to be recorded. Release the buttons.
  4. Play the keyboard to start recording.
  5. Press the [REC] button to stop recording.
  6. Select one of the following options:
    1. To play back the recording:
      1. Press the [TOP] button.
      2. Press the silver [START/STOP] button to start the Song.
      3. Press the silver [START/STOP] button again to stop the Song.
    2. To re-record, repeat steps 3 - 5.
    3. To save the Song, proceed to the 'Saving the Song' procedure.

Multi Recording:
  1. Press and hold the [REC] button, while pressing the [TOP] button located in the 'SONG' section of the front panel to create a new Song. Release the buttons.
  2. Select a Style and/or Voice.
  3. To select a Channel for recording, press and hold the [REC] button while pressing one of the '1' - '8' Up Button or [Down Button LCD buttons that corresponds to the desired Channel. The selected Channel will display 'REC' in the screen.
  4. Use the [C] or [D] LCD buttons to select a Part.
  5. Press the [ENTER] button.
    TIP: To record multiple Channels/Parts simultaneously, repeat steps 3 - 5.
  6. To start recording, begin playing the keyboard, or press the silver [START/STOP] button in the 'SONG' section of the front panel.
    TIP: When recording Auto Accompaniment Parts from a Style, it is a good idea to turn ON the [INTRO] button and [SYNC. START] button first (red LED illuminates on both), and then play the chords for the Style to trigger the recording. This way the Song will have a more professional sounding introduction.
  7. To stop recording, press the [REC] button. If recording a Style, the [ENDING] button can also be used for a professional sounding ending.
  8. Select one of the following options:
    1. To play back the recording:
      1. Press the [TOP] button.
      2. Press the silver [START/STOP] button to start the Song.
      3. Press the silver [START/STOP] button again to stop the Song.
    2. To record additional Parts, repeat steps 2 - 7.
    3. To save the Song, proceed to the 'Saving the Song' procedure.

Saving the Song:
    NOTE: Once a Song has been recorded, it can be saved to the 'USER' memory, or to the 'FLOPPY DISK' memory.
  1. Press the [A] LCD button to select 'SONG'.
  2. Use the [BACK] and [NEXT] buttons to select the 'USER' page or the 'FLOPPY DISK' page.
  3. Press the '6' Down Button LCD button to select 'SAVE'.
  4. Use the '1' - '8' Up Button and Down Button LCD buttons to name the Song.
  5. Press the '8' Up Button LCD button to select 'OK'. The Song will be saved to the selected memory location.
