Creating a Custom Multi Setup and Dumping the Settings to a Sequencer
Initializing a Multi Setup:
This resets all the Multi setup parameters to the default settings.

Press the [MULTI] button.
Press the [UTILITY] button.
Use the 'PAGE'
and 
buttons to display the 'JobSel' screen.
Cursor to 'initialize' in the screen.
Press and hold the [SHIFT] button, then press the [ENTER] button three times.
Naming and storing the initialized Multi Setup:
The initialized Multi setup can be named and stored to a User location, so there will always be a 'blank slate' available whenever creating a setup from scratch for a new song.
- Press the [EDIT] button.
if the [MUTE/SEL] button LED is ON, press it once to turn it OFF.
Press and hold the [SHIFT] button, then press the [COMMON] button.
Use the 'PAGE'
and buttons to display the 'General' screen.
Cursor to 'Name' in the screen.
Use the 'BANK' and buttons, and the Data Dial to name the Multi setup.
Press and hold the [SHIFT] button, then press the [STORE] button.
Turn the Dial to select a User location number.
Press and hold the [SHIFT] button, then press the [ENTER] button twice.
Selecting Voices and Settings for Each Part:
- Press the [EDIT] button.
if the [MUTE/SEL] button LED is ON, press it once to turn it OFF.
Press the 'PART' [1] button to enter Part Edit mode.
Press the 'PAGE' [<] button repeatedly to display the 'Voice' screen.
Press one of the four Part Select buttons to select a desired Part.
EXAMPLE: Press the [3/7/11/15] Part Select button repeatedly to select Part 11.
Use the Data Dial, [^] and [v] Cursor buttons, and 'PAGE'
and buttons to select a Voice and other settings for the selected Part.
Using the Part Select buttons, repeat steps 5 - 6 for subsequent Parts.
Recording the Multi Setup Settings to an External Sequencer:

Make sure there is a blank measure
at the beginning of the song in the external sequencer.
On the MOTIF-RACK, press the [UTILITY]
button.
Use the 'PAGE'
and buttons to display
the 'JobSel' screen.
Cursor to 'Bulk Dump' in the screen.
Press and hold the [SHIFT]
button, then press the [ENTER] button two times.
Start the external sequencer recording.
NOTE: The time between steps 6 and 7 needs to be
very short, about 1 second. Only one measure needs to be recorded, but use
a blank track, if available, to avoid recording over any previous note data.
Once the external sequencer is
recording, press and hold the MOTIF-RACK [SHIFT] button, then press the
[ENTER] button once. The screen displays 'Transmitting MIDI Bulk', while
the data is being transmitted. After approximately two seconds this message
disappears and the external sequencer should be stopped.
When the song is saved on the external sequencer, it will then have all the Multi setup settings needed to play the MOTIF-RACK Voices correctly.
