Using the 'Lesson' Feature
Follow the steps below to start any lesson:

Select a song from the SONG menu. Press the [SONG] button and then type in the song number.
Select a Lesson. The lesson will begin automatically.
Lesson 1: Timing
Press the [L] or [R] button once. Tap the tempo of the song on any key and the keyboard will keep track of how well the beat of the song was tapped. It will grade the player after the song is finished.
Lesson 2: Waiting
Press the [L] or [R] button twice. Play the right hand or left hand part of the melody. The keyboard will wait for the user to play the next note and indicate what note(s) to play.
Lesson 3: Play the part yourself
Press the [L] or [R] button three times. This mutes either the right or left hand part and the user gets to play it. The keyboard does not wait. By this time the player should know the song.
Lesson 4: Right and Left Hand Play
Press the [L] and [R] buttons together. Play both parts without the keyboard waiting.
