Recording Bulk Dump Settings To External Sequencer

Use the Yamaha SQ01 or your favorite sequencer to record the bulk data from the Motif Rack. (See NOTE:1)

For those that have only a few User Voices/Multis, they can be transferred indivdually (see the procedure below).  The procedure for transferring ALL data will take about 30 min. to save and 30 min. to reload.

NOTE:1 The sequencer onboard the Triton Classic® and Triton LE® will NOT record SYS EX data. The Triton Studio V2® will.

Recording ALL internal bulk data to an external sequencer:

• Start with a new song in the external sequencer.
• On the Motif Rack, press the [UTILITY] button.
• Use the 'PAGE' [<] and [>] buttons to display the 'JobSel' screen.
• Cursor to 'Bulk Dump' in the screen.
• Press and hold the [SHIFT] button, then press the [ENTER] button once.
• Turn the Data Dial to select 'All Bulk Dump' (an 'X' will appear in the box on the left of the display.
• Press and hold the [SHIFT] button, then press the [ENTER] button once.
• Start the external sequencer recording.

  NOTE:  Several hundred measures will be recorded, so use a blank track to avoid recording over any previous note data.

• Press and hold the [SHIFT] button (on the Motif Rack), then press the [ENTER] button once. The data is transmitted in approximately thirty minutes and the recording can be stopped.

Recording a single User Voice to an external sequencer:

• Start with a new song in the external sequencer.
• On the Motif Rack, press the [VOICE] button.
• Press the [UTILITY] button.
• Press the 'PAGE' [<] and [>] buttons as necessary to display the 'JobSel' screen.
• Cursor to 'Bulk Dump' in the screen.
• Press and hold the [SHIFT] button, then press the [ENTER] button once.
• Turn the Data Dial to select 'Current 1 Voice' (an 'X' will appear in the box on the left of the display.
• Press and hold the [SHIFT] button, then press the [ENTER] button once.
• Start the external sequencer recording.
• Press and hold the [SHIFT] button (on the Motif Rack), then press the [ENTER] button once. The data is transmitted in approximately two seconds and the recording can be stopped.

Recording a single User Multi to an external sequencer:

• Start with a new song in the external sequencer.
• On the Motif Rack, press the [MULTI] button.
• Press the [UTILITY] button.
• Use the 'PAGE' [<] and [>] buttons to display the 'JobSel' screen.
• Cursor to 'Bulk Dump' in the screen.
• Press and hold the [SHIFT] button, then press the [ENTER] button once.
• Turn the Data Dial to select 'Current 1 Multi' (an 'X' will appear in the box on the left of the display.
• Press and hold the [SHIFT] button, then press the [ENTER] button once.
• Start the external sequencer recording.
• Press and hold the [SHIFT] button (on the Motif Rack), then press the [ENTER] button once. The data is transmitted in approximately two seconds and the recording can be stopped.
