Using a Plug-in Board in Song or Pattern Mode on a MOTIF

The Mixing settings of Song mode or Pattern mode on the MOTIF already contain 16 Parts for the internal Voices; each of these Parts default to the corresponding MIDI Receive Channel when the Song or Pattern is initialized. When using Plug-in Boards, Plug-in Part 1, 2, and 3 default to MIDI Receive Channels 1, 2, and 3.

Since there are only 16 Channels in MIDI, the Channels for the Plug-in Boards may be the same as another Part being used in a Song, and this may cause unwanted doubling of voices. To avoid this problem, the corresponding MIDI Receive Channel of an internal Part should be turned OFF, so only the desired Plug-in Board Voice will be heard. Turning OFF the MIDI Recive Channel for an Internal Part:

1) From Song or Pattern mode, press the [MIXING] button (LED illuminates).

2) Press the [EDIT] button.

3) Press the [1] button to allow editing of individual Parts.

4) Press the [F6] button to select Parts '1' - '16'.

5) Press the [SF2] 'MODE' button.

6) Cursor to the 'ReceiveCh' of the desired Part and use the Data Dial to select 'off'.
