Controlling an Individual Voice in a Performance Setup via Foot Controller

In order to have an individual Voice in a Performance respond to a parameter such as 'Expression' from an FC7 Foot Controller, the Part Receive Switch must be turned ON for the Part which the Voice is in, and turned OFF for the other Parts. 1) Plug a Yamaha FC7 Foot Controller into the MOTIF 'FOOT CONTROLLER 1' jack.

2) Select the desired Performance setup or create one from scratch.

Click here for 'Creating a Layered Performance on MOTIF Keyboards'.
Click here for 'Creating a Split Keyboard Performance on MOTIF'.

3) Press the [EDIT] button.

4) Press the [1] button.

5) Press the [F5] 'RCV SW' button.

6) Press the [SF5] button to display the '4 PART' view in the screen. Four columns labled as 'PARTS 01 - 04' should be displayed.

7) Use the Up [^] and Down [v] Cursor buttons to display 'Exp' on the left side of the screen (Expression).

8) Use the Left [<] and Right [>] Cursor buttons to select the Part to be controlled by the FC7 Foot Controller.

9) Use the Data Dial to turn Expression 'ON' for the selected Part.

10) Select Expression 'OFF' for the other Parts.

The FC7 Foot Controller can now be used to fade the selected Voice in and out of the Performance, while the other Voices remain constant.

Storing the Edited Performance Setup:
