Configuring the QY70 Data Filer to Work on a PC

When using the QY Data Filer application on a PC computer to communicate via the serial port with a QY70, the QY70 [HOST SELECT] switch must be set to the 'PC2' position. A special Yamaha 'CCIBM' cable must be connected from the QY70 'To Host' jack to an available 'COM' port on the computer. Additionally, the Yamaha CBX driver must be installed in the computer. The CBX driver must be selected for both MIDI IN and MIDI OUT in the 'Device Setup' window of the QY Data Filer. Using the 'TO HOST' MIDI interface:
NOTE: In order to configure the QY70 Data Filer application, the Yamaha CBX driver must already be installed.

1) Open the QY Data Filer application.

2) Select the 'Setup' menu.

3) Select 'Device Setup'.

4) Select the 'CBX driver' in both the 'MIDI IN PORT' and 'MIDI OUT PORT' drop-down lists.

5) Click the <OK> button.

For all other types of MIDI interfaces:

1) Open the QY Data Filer application.

2) Select the 'Setup' menu.

3) Select 'Device Setup'.

4) Select the appropriate MIDI driver(s) in both the 'MIDI IN PORT' and 'MIDI OUT PORT' drop-down lists.

5) Click the <OK> button.
