MTC drop out, or temporary loss of synchronization, is generally caused by the MTC source device. Some MTC sources, such as computer-type MIDI outputs are not in compliance with the MTC specification. One possible resolution is to connect the MTC feed into the more tolerant 'MIDI IN', instead of the 'MTC IN'. If drop-outs are still occurring then the MTC generator source will need to be upgraded.
