Single Finger and Fingered methods to generate Auto Accompaniment on PSR77/PSR180/PSR185

Using the ''Single Finger'' method when Auto Accompaniment is engaged in Style mode on the PSR77, PSR180 and the PSR185 enables the user to play a one-, two-, or three-finger chord on the left side of the keyboard labeled 'AUTO ACCOMP. SECTION' (Auto Accompaniment Section). The ''Fingered'' method enables all the notes of the chord to be played. The chords fingered in the 'AUTO ACCOMP. SECTION' when Style mode is activated set the key signature for the Auto Accompaniment. The PSR ''understands'' the chord that is played and automatically generates the proper accompaniment for the selected Style.

NOTE: The Single Finger and Fingered methods are used strictly for controlling the Auto Accompaniment and cannot be used to play Single Finger or Fingered Chords in a particular Voice. When the Style mode is engaged no other Voices can be generated from the 'AUTO ACCOMP. SECTION' of the keyboard while the Auto Accompaniment is playing. There is no way to revoice the Auto Accompaniment section.

Using the Single Finger or Fingered methods:
    1) Press the [STYLE] button to select Style mode.

    2) Enter the number for the desired Style.

    3) Press the [START/STOP] button to activate Rhythm.

    4) To produce Single Finger Chords press one key in the 'AUTO ACCOMP. SECTION' of the keyboard to form the "Root Note" of the Single Finger chord. The four Chord types that can be produced using the Single Finger method are Major, Minor, Seventh and Minor Seventh.
Example: When the key of 'C' is selected as the Root Note, pressing any white key to the left of it will produce the C7 chord. The C note together with any black key to the left of it will produce a Cm chord. The C key together with any white and black key to the left of it (three keys together) will produce the Cm7 chord.
    5) To produce Fingered Chords play all the notes of a chord using conventional techniques.

NOTE: Though detection of the Single Finger and Fingered methods is automatic, you can set Auto Accompaniment to function exclusively in either the Single Finger or Fingered modes by performing the following steps before selecting a 'Style'.
To set Auto Accompaniment using the Single Finger method:
    1) Turn OFF the power.

    2) Press the [-] key on the Numeric Keypad and simultaneously turn ON the power.. 'SF' (Single Finger) briefly appears on the Multi Display.

NOTE: In Single Finger, the Auto Accompaniment Section is set between the C1 key (the lowest key) and the C#2 key.
To set Auto Accompaniment using the Fingered method:
    1) Turn OFF the power.

    2) Press the [+] key on the Numeric Keypad and simultaneously turn ON the power. 'F' (Fingered) briefly appears in the Multi Display.
