Creating a custom MIDI split on a P150
EXAMPLE: A P150 voice on the right side of the keyboard and a sound from an external sound module on the left.
-
Press the [SPLIT] button. The LED above it will light and the keyboard will now be split into two regions; one playing the main voice and the other playing the voice that was selected the last time [SPLIT] was used.
Hold down the [BALANCE] button and move the DATA ENTRY slider to 15. This will increase the level of the main voice to maximum while reducing the sub voice to minimum.
Connect 'MIDI OUT' of the P150 to 'MIDI IN' of the tone generator.
NOTE: When the P150 is in Split Mode the Main Voice (Right Hand) will transmit on the specified Tx Channel and the Sub Voice (Left Hand) will transmit on the specified Tx Channel + 1.
EXAMPLE: The P150 Tx Channel is set to MIDI Channel 1. Main Voice will transmit on MIDI Channel 1 and the Sub Voice will transmit on MIDI Channel 2.
Configure the MIDI setup on the tone generator to correspond with the MIDI channel configuration on the P150.
Connect the audio output of the sound module to 'LINE IN' of the P150.
