Playing different instrument parts on a PSR730

Musically, R1, R2 and L denote a musical ''part.'' In a musical group, each member plays a different part of the music. Each musician also plays a different instrument. With regards to Yamaha keyboards, the terms R1 (Right 1), R2 (Right 2) and L (LEFT) refer to an instrument sound and how it is played on the keyboard.
R1 (Right 1): R1 is the main instrument voice or lead instrument. R1 can be any instrument. All keys on the keyboard, by default, play the R1 instrument. On power up, the default R1 voice is GRAND PIANO and it is enabled.
R2 (Right 2): R2 is the layered, secondary or 'Dual' instrument voice. R2 can be any instrument. R2 plays with the R1 voice in the 'Dual Voice' mode. On power up the default R2 voice is STRINGS, but it is not enabled. To enable the R2 voice, press the [DUAL VOICE] button. The 'Dual Voice' mode can create a richer, layered sound as the R1 and R2 instrument sounds will play together. In other words, one key will play two instrument sounds at once.
L (Left): L is the left hand or ''Split'' voice. L can be any instrument. This part will play only on the left hand side of the keyboard. The first key towards the right (i.e. the highest note) that plays the L instrument voice is the SPLIT POINT. On power up, the default L voice is FINGER BASS, but it is not activated. To activate the L voice, press the [SPLIT VOICE] button. The 'Split Voice' mode is useful for controlling two instrument that will play different ''parts'' of the music, perhaps like a duet. In other words, the left hand plays the L voice and the right hand plays the R1, or R1 and R2 voices.
