Eliminating Bulk Dump errors between Cakewalk Pro versions 4-8 and an 02R
To eliminate Bulk Dump errors in Cakewalk Pro, the MIDI Sysex communication parameters will need to be changed. This can be done by accessing the Cakewalk configuration file, 'Ttsseq.ini', in Windows 95/98 and changing the parameters listed in the [Options] section.
-
Click the Windows 95/98 'Windows Explorer' icon, or double-click the 'My Computer' icon to view the folders located on the PC hard drive where Cakewalk is installed.
NOTE: Typically, Cakewalk Pro is installed at 'C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Cakewalk Professional' unless the user has installed the application at a different location and has customized the folder names.
Double-click the 'Program Files' folder. Double-click the 'Cakewalk' folder. Double-click the 'Cakewalk Professional' folder. Double-click the 'Ttsseq.ini' file. The file will then automatically open in Notepad.
TIP: Create a backup copy of the 'Ttsseq.ini' configuration settings file by saving it as a new file with a different name. This can be accomplished by clicking Notepad's 'File' menu and selecting 'Save As' from the drop-down menu list. Reopen the original 'Ttsseq.ini' file to proceed.
Locate the [Options] in the 'Ttsseq.ini' file. Replace the parameters listed in the [Options] section with the following:
[Options]
LocalOnPort=-1
SysDelayAfterF7=1
SysxSendDelayMsecs=200
SysxSendPacketSize=1024
LocalOnPort=-1
SysDelayAfterF7=1
SysxSendDelayMsecs=200
SysxSendPacketSize=1024
TIP: Copy the [Options] parameters on this page and paste them directly over the [Options] parameters in the 'Ttsseq.ini' file. Be sure not to delete other parameters that may also be in the [Options] section.
Save the 'Ttsseq.ini' file and exit Notepad.
