Saving and Loading data using a SmartMedia Card on an S80
Data on the S80 can all be saved and loaded using a SmartMedia Card. The card must be 3V (3.3 Volts) and can be found with memory capacities of 2MB, 4MB, 8MB, 16MB, and 32MB. NOTE: If the SmartMedia Card is new, or if all data currently on it needs to be cleared, the card must first be formatted.WARNING: Formatting the SmartMedia Card will erase any data currently contained on it.

Saving data to a SmartMedia Card:
- 1) With the power turned OFF, insert a SmartMedia Card into the '3.3V Card' slot.
NOTE: The card can also be inserted with the power ON, but any non-saved edits on the S80 will be erased.
2) Turn ON the power.
3) Press the [CARD] button to enter 'Card' mode.
4) Turn the (PAGE) knob until 'Save' is displayed on the left side of the screen.
5) Turn the (B) knob to select the desired file type. (See the table below for a list of data types which can be saved.)
6) Use the (1) and (2) knobs to name the file.
- a) To overwrite a specific existing file on the card, turn the (C) knob to select the file and use the same file name.
NOTE: If using Directories and Sub-Directories to organize files on the SmartMedia Card, see the next section for instructions on accessing them.
- a) If overwriting an existing file, the screen will display a confirmation message. Press the [INC/YES]
button to finish.

Loading data from a SmartMedia Card:
NOTE: If a Directory has been created on a SmartMedia Card, it must first be selected in Card Mode on the S80, before the S80 can access the files it contains.
- 1) Insert a SmartMedia Card containing data into the '3.3V Card' slot.
2) Press the [CARD] button to enter 'Card' mode.
3) Turn the (PAGE) knob until 'Load' is displayed on the left side of the screen.
4) Turn the (B) knob to select the desired file type. (See the table below for a list of data types which can be loaded.)
5) Turn the (C) knob to select the desired file number.
6) Press the [ENTER] button.
- a) If a file type other than 'voice' or 'perf' has been selected, a confirmation message is displayed before loading to the appropriate destination.
- b) If 'voice' or 'perf' has been selected, turn the (B) and (C) knobs to select source memory and number and turn the (1) and (2) knobs to select the destination memory and number.
c) Press the [ENTER] button.
- 7) Press the [INC/YES]
button.
