Step Recording the Chord Track in a Song on a QY70

The Chord Track is used to record the chord progression that will correspond to the Pattern Track. Step-recording the Chord Track allows chord changes to be easily inserted at the desired location within the Song.
    1) Press the [SONG] button until the screen displays 'SONG' in the upper-left corner to enter the 'Song display' mode.

    2) Use the QY70 Left Cursor Button, QY70 Right Cursor Button, QY70 Up Cursor Button, or QY70 Down Cursor Button 'Cursor' buttons to move the cursor to 'Cd' (Chord Track).

NOTE: The 'Cursor' buttons are located on the upper-right side of the unit.

    3) Press the QY70 / QY100 Record Button 'Record' button. The red 'Record' LED will illuminate.

    4) Press the QY70 Up Cursor Button 'Up Cursor' button.

CAUTION: Moving the cursor to the right or left first will cause the QY70 to de-select the Chord Track.

    5) Use the QY70 Left Cursor Button or QY70 Right Cursor Button 'Cursor' button to highlight 'STEP'.

    6) Press the [ENTER] button. The screen will display an 'R' underneath 'STEP'.

    7) Press the QY70 Play Button 'Play' button. The green 'Play' LED will illuminate, the display will change to the Chord Track screen and the cursor will appear on the first measure, beat one.

NOTE: The Time Signature of the Pattern on the Pattern Track will determine the number of 'beats' and therefore the number of chord changes available per measure. For example, a 4/4 time signature equals 4 beats allowing 4 chord changes per measure. A 12/8 time signature equals 8 beats allowing 8 chord changes per measure.

    8) Use the 'Micro-Keyboard' to enter the chord root and type.

NOTE: The left half of the 'Micro-Keyboard' from E to D# is used to enter the root of the chord. The right half of the 'Micro-Keyboard from E to E is used to enter the chord type. Each chord type button has two chord types available per button, which can be toggled between the two options.

    9) Use the QY70 Left Cursor Button, QY70 Right Cursor Button, QY70 Up Cursor Button, or QY70 Down Cursor Button 'Cursor' buttons to navigate to subsequent beats and measures in order to enter any additional Chord changes.

NOTE: Chord entries can be erased by first highlighting the desired entry and then pressing the top 'Function' (F1) button next to 'ERS>' on the display.

    10) Press the QY70 / QY100 Stop Button 'Stop' button to end recording.

    11) Press the QY70 Play Button 'Play' button to playback the Song. The green 'Play' LED will flash while the Song is playing.
