Copying Phrases on a RM1X

Within each Style of the RM1X there are 16 sections which are labeled A - P. Each of these sections has 16 tracks which are made up of Phrases. It is possible to copy any of the Phrases to another Phrase, either within the same section or another section. It is also possible to copy a Phrase to another section within a different Style.

Once a Phrase is copied to another location, it can then be edited without affecting the original Phrase. However, if a Track/Pattern is copied to another location, any editing done to the copied Track/Pattern will affect the original, because it is pointing to the same Phrase data location.

The Copy Phrase function is useful for creating additional phrases of a similar type once a basic phrase has been recorded. NOTE: A Phrase can only be copied if the unit is in Pattern mode.
    1) Press the [PATTERN] button to access the Pattern mode.

    2) Press the [JOB] button.

    3) Turn the (1) Display Knob located directly above the [F1] button to scroll through the Job list until 'Copy Phrase' (JOB 18) is highlighted.

    4) Press the [F4] button to select the 'Copy Phrase' job. The 'JOB 18 Copy Phrase' page will appear on the LCD and the 'Style =' field should be highlighted on the upper row of Style and Phrase values.
NOTE: The upper row of Style and Phrase values indicate the source while the lower row of Style and Phrase values indicate the destination. Click here to view the 'Copy Phrase' page.

    5) Turn the (1) Display Knob to scroll through the source 'Style =' list until the desired source Style number is selected.

    6) Press the appropriate [CURSOR] button to highlight the desired source preset or user Phrase ('Phrs =') on the first row of values.
NOTE: The first Phrase value displayed on the source row is for the 37 preset Phrases (BD1-ET1) and the second Phrase value above the first 'Copy' bar is for user Phrases (001-256).

    7) Turn the (1) Display Knob to scroll through the source 'Phrs =' list until the desired Phrase number is selected.

    8) Press the appropriate [CURSOR] button to move to the 'Style =' field on second row (destination) of values.

    9) Turn the (1) Display Knob to select the desired destination Style location (U01-U50).

    10) Press the appropriate [CURSOR] buttons to select the destination Phrase ('Phrs =') from the second row of values.

    11) Turn the (1) Display Knob to select the desired destination Phrase number location (001-256).
