Song Name Is Not Displayed when a PSR9000 Accesses Standard MIDI Files
NOTE: Standard MIDI files (SMF) have two names, the Disk Operating System (DOS) name and the song name Meta Event embedded in the file. The PSR9000 displays the data on a floppy disk, hard disk, or an external drive more rapidly than previous models since it does not search MIDI files for the song name Meta Events. The result is that the keyboard will only display the DOS name for the Standard MIDI file, and the actual song title might not be readily identifiable.
EXAMPLE: The Tune 1000 file 'EVERY LITTLE' will be displayed as '62450_01.MID'.
To allow the song name to be displayed, the PSR9000, Version 2, provides the option of using the SMF Song Name function to replace the DOS names with the song name Meta Events embedded in the MIDI files. Once the SMF Song Name function has been performed, the Standard MIDI files will always be accessed by the song name Meta Event.
NOTE: To use the SMF Song Name function, the PSR9000 operating system must be Version 2. Click here for 'Downloading the Latest PSR9000 Flash ROM Update'.
