ALL 9000PRO ISSUES
Downloading and Installing the Latest 9000PRO Flash ROM Update
CAUTION: It is recommended that a backup of any personal 9000PRO data be made before proceeding. The backup will require two 1.44MB (HD) floppy disks. This procedure pertains to IBM-compatible PCs running Windows 95/98/Me/NT/2000.Reference: 9000PRO Owner's Manual, p.154

Download Procedure:
1)

to download the latest 9000PRO OS update file version 2.06
. The instructions below explain the download process.
a) Select the 'Save this program to disk' radio button in the 'File Download' dialog box.
c) Select the Windows Desktop as the destination folder.
1] Click on the drop-down button in the 'Save In:' field and select 'Desktop'. ('Desktop' will appear at the top of the drop-down list)
2] Click the <Save> button. The 'Saving Progress' dialog box will appear until the download is complete.

Extraction Procedure:
1) Double-click on the '9000PRO_OS.exe' application file that is located on the Windows Desktop. The 'WinZip Self-Extractor' dialog box will appear. 

a)
Click the <Unzip> button to extract the files and place them in
the desired folder.
b) Click the <OK> button.
c) Close the 'WinZip Self-Extractor' dialog box by clicking on the <Close>button.
NOTE:
The above procedure will extract 3 files : 'installation_os_upgrades',
'readme.txt', and 'OSPV206.exe'.
2)
Double-click on the 'OSPV206.exe'' application file. The
program files will be automatically extracted.
Installation Procedure:
1) Format six (6) 1.44MB (HD) floppy disks and label each one with a Program Name from the table below. Each file should be saved onto a separate floppy disk.

2) Copy each of the files from the 'Desktop' to the root directory of each of the corresponding diskettes.
4) Press the [B] button on the left side of the screen to load the Main Program.
5) Insert the 'Main Program 1' diskette into the 9000PRO's disk drive.
6) Press the [START/STOP] button to begin loading.
7) Follow the instructions on the screen and continue loading the remaining 'Main Program' floppy disks until the first five files have been loaded. When loading is completed, the screen will display 'Completed'.
8) Remove the 'Main Program 5' diskette from the 9000PRO's disk drive.
9) Press the [C] button on the left side of the screen to load the 'Sub Program'.
10) Insert the 'Sub Program' floppy disk.
11) Press the [START] button. When the loading is completed, the screen will display 'Completed'.
12) Remove the 'Sub Program' floppy disk from the 9000PRO's disk drive.
13) Press the [EXIT] button once. The 9000PRO will restart with the new version of the Flash ROM installed.
a) Insert the floppy disk labeled 'Main Program 1' into the computer's floppy disk drive.
b) Right-click the file 'p9000pm.001' that appears on the Windows Desktop. A menu list appears.
c) Select 'Send To' and then select '3 1/2 Floppy (A)'.
d) Repeat Steps a - c for each remaining labelled floppy disks until all six (6) files have been copied.
3) Starting with the 9000PRO power turned OFF, turn ON the 9000PRO while holding down the [START/STOP] button. The screen will display the 'Program Installer' page.b) Right-click the file 'p9000pm.001' that appears on the Windows Desktop. A menu list appears.
c) Select 'Send To' and then select '3 1/2 Floppy (A)'.
d) Repeat Steps a - c for each remaining labelled floppy disks until all six (6) files have been copied.
4) Press the [B] button on the left side of the screen to load the Main Program.
5) Insert the 'Main Program 1' diskette into the 9000PRO's disk drive.
6) Press the [START/STOP] button to begin loading.

12) Remove the 'Sub Program' floppy disk from the 9000PRO's disk drive.
13) Press the [EXIT] button once. The 9000PRO will restart with the new version of the Flash ROM installed.
