Step Recording the Chord Track of a Song on a QY100

The Chord Track is used to record the chord progression that will correspond to the Pattern Track. Step-recording the Chord Track allows chord changes to be easily inserted at the desired location within the Song. Recording the Chord Track:
    1) Press the [SONG] button until the main Song screen is displayed. The word 'SONG' will appear in the top left corner.

    2) If necessary, use the Cursor buttons in the upper-right side of the unit to highlight the Song number at the top of the display.

    3) Use the [-1/NO] or [+1/YES] button to select the desired Song location.

    4) If 'FNGR' is not set to 'OFF', then use the Cursor buttons to highlight 'FNGR' above the track numbers in the display. Otherwise, proceed to step 6.

    5) Press the [-1/NO] button to set 'FNGR' to 'OFF'.

    6) Use the Cursor buttons to highlight 'Cd' (Chord Track).

    7) Press the QY70 / QY100 Record Button 'Record' button. The red 'Record' LED will illuminate.

    8) Press the 'Up' Cursor button.
IMPORTANT: Moving the cursor to the right or left first will cause the QY100 to de-select the Chord Track.
    9) Use the Cursor buttons to highlight 'STEP'.

    10) Press the [ENTER] button. The screen will display an 'R' underneath 'STEP'.

    11) Press the QY100 Play Button 'Play' button. The green 'Play' LED will illuminate, the display will change to the Chord Track screen and the cursor will appear on the first measure, beat one.

NOTE: The Time Signature of the Pattern on the Pattern Track will determine the number of 'beats' and therefore the number of chord changes available per measure. For example, a 4/4 time signature equals 4 beats allowing 4 chord changes per measure. A 12/8 time signature equals 8 beats allowing 8 chord changes per measure.

    12) Use the 'Micro-Keyboard' to enter the chord root and type.

      a) Press the desired 'key' button on the left half of the 'Micro-Keyboard' from E to D# to enter the root of the chord.
      b) Press the desired 'key' button on the right half of the 'Micro-Keyboard from the second E to the top E to enter the chord type.

NOTE: Each chord type button has two chord types available per button. Each time a button is pressed the chord type will toggle from one type to the other.

    13) Use the Cursor buttons to navigate to subsequent beats and measures in order to enter any additional chord changes.

NOTE: Chord entries can be erased by first highlighting the desired entry and then pressing the top [F1] 'Function' button next to 'ers>' on the display.

    14) Press the QY70 / QY100 Stop Button 'Stop' button to end recording.

    15) Press the QY100 Play Button 'Play' button to playback the Song. The green 'Play' LED will flash while the Song is playing.
