Downloading and Installing the Latest OS Update for the A5000
The latest OS update for the A5000 is version 1.50. Please make sure that the currently installed OS is lower than this version. See 'Checking the Current OS Version'.Checking the Current OS Version:
1) Press the [DISK] button.
2) Press the [COMMAND/EXIT] button.
3) Turn knob (1) to the right one 'click'.
4) Push knob (4) that is located beneath the 'Load OS' screen menu item. The Load OS screen will appear and the current OS version will be displayed.
5) Turn OFF the A5000.

3) Turn knob (1) to the right one 'click'.
4) Push knob (4) that is located beneath the 'Load OS' screen menu item. The Load OS screen will appear and the current OS version will be displayed.
5) Turn OFF the A5000.
Download Procedure:
1) Click here to download the latest A5000 OS update file version 1.50. The instructions below explain the download process.
a) Select the 'Save this program to disk' radio button in the 'File Download' dialog box.
b) Click the <OK> button. The 'Save As' dialog box will appear. 
c) Select the Windows Desktop as the destination folder.
1] Click on the drop-down button in the 'Save In:' field and select 'Desktop'. ('Desktop' will appear at the top of the drop-down list)
2] Click the <Save> button. The 'Saving Progress' dialog box will appear until the download is complete.

Extraction Procedure:
1) Double-click on the 'RS7000_OS.exe' application file that is located on the Windows Desktop. The 'WinZip Self-Extractor' dialog box will appear.
a) Click the <Unzip> button. The files will be unzipped into the Windows Desktop and then the 'WinZip Self-Extractor' confirmation dialog box will appear.
b) Click the <OK> button.
c) Close the 'WinZip Self-Extractor' dialog box by clicking on the <Close>button.
NOTE: The above procedure will save three files to the Windows Desktop in a folder called 'A5000_OS'.
Preparation Procedure:
1) Label two (2) 1.44MB (HD) floppy disks as 'Main' and 'Sub'.
2) Copy the files to each floppy disk.
OS Installation Procedure: 2) Copy the files to each floppy disk.
a) Insert the floppy disk labeled 'Main' into the computer's floppy disk drive.
b) Right-click the file '0475mst1.pgm' that appears on the Windows Desktop. A menu list appears.
c) Select 'Send To' and then select '3 1/2 Floppy (A)'. The file will be copied to the floppy disk.
d) Eject the floppy disk.
e) Insert the floppy disk labeled 'Sub' into the computer's floppy disk drive.
f) Right-click the file '0475slv1.pgm' that appears on the Windows Desktop. A menu list appears.
g) Select 'Send To' and then select '3 1/2 Floppy (A)'. The file will be copied to the floppy disk.
h) Eject the floppy disk.
b) Right-click the file '0475mst1.pgm' that appears on the Windows Desktop. A menu list appears.
c) Select 'Send To' and then select '3 1/2 Floppy (A)'. The file will be copied to the floppy disk.
d) Eject the floppy disk.
e) Insert the floppy disk labeled 'Sub' into the computer's floppy disk drive.
f) Right-click the file '0475slv1.pgm' that appears on the Windows Desktop. A menu list appears.
g) Select 'Send To' and then select '3 1/2 Floppy (A)'. The file will be copied to the floppy disk.
h) Eject the floppy disk.
1) Power OFF the A5000.
2) Insert the floppy disk labeled 'Main' in the floppy disk drive of the A5000.
3) Turn ON the A5000.
4) Press the [DISK] button.

6) Turn knob (1) to the right one 'click'.
7) Push knob (4) that is located beneath the 'Load OS' screen menu item.
8) Press knob (1) to start the Load OS operation. The screen will display 'Load OS? Wave Memory will be erased. Are you sure?'
9) Select one of the following options:
12) Eject the floppy disk from the A5000.
13) Insert the floppy disk labeled 'Sub' in the floppy disk drive of the A5000.
14) Turn ON the A5000.
15) Press the [DISK] button.
16) Press the [COMMAND/EXIT] button.
17) Turn knob (1) to the right one 'click'.
18) Press knob (4) that is located beneath the 'Load OS' screen menu item.
19) Turn knob (3) to the right one 'click'. The screen should display 'OS File Type Sub'
20) Press knob (1) to start the Load OS operation. The screen will display 'Load OS? Wave Memory will be erased. Are you sure?'
21) Select one of the following options:
NOTE: It is recommended that the OS version be checked to make sure that the OS update was performed successfully. See 'Checking the Current OS Version'.
2) Insert the floppy disk labeled 'Main' in the floppy disk drive of the A5000.
3) Turn ON the A5000.
4) Press the [DISK] button.
5) Press the [COMMAND/EXIT] button.
6) Turn knob (1) to the right one 'click'.
7) Push knob (4) that is located beneath the 'Load OS' screen menu item.
8) Press knob (1) to start the Load OS operation. The screen will display 'Load OS? Wave Memory will be erased. Are you sure?'
9) Select one of the following options:
a) To continue, press knob (5). The OS will start to load from disk. When finished, the screen will display 'Load OK. Upgrade OS?'
b) To cancel, press knob (4).
10) Select one of the following options:b) To cancel, press knob (4).
a) To continue, press knob (5). The OS upgrade will complete the installation process and the LEDs F1 - F6 will all light up solid.
b) To cancel, press knob (4).
11) Turn OFF the A5000.b) To cancel, press knob (4).
12) Eject the floppy disk from the A5000.
13) Insert the floppy disk labeled 'Sub' in the floppy disk drive of the A5000.
14) Turn ON the A5000.
15) Press the [DISK] button.
16) Press the [COMMAND/EXIT] button.
17) Turn knob (1) to the right one 'click'.
18) Press knob (4) that is located beneath the 'Load OS' screen menu item.
19) Turn knob (3) to the right one 'click'. The screen should display 'OS File Type Sub'
20) Press knob (1) to start the Load OS operation. The screen will display 'Load OS? Wave Memory will be erased. Are you sure?'
21) Select one of the following options:
a) To continue, press knob (5). The OS will start to load from disk. When finished, the screen will display 'Load OK. Upgrade OS?'
b) To cancel, press knob (4).
22) Select one of the following options:b) To cancel, press knob (4).
a) To continue, press knob (5). The OS upgrade will complete the installation process and the LEDs F1 - F6 will all illuminate.
b) To cancel, press knob (4).
23) Turn OFF the A5000. When the A5000 is turned ON again, it will boot up with the new operating system.b) To cancel, press knob (4).
