ALL PSR9000 ISSUES
Connecting and Formatting an External SCSI Hard Drive on a PSR9000 and 9000PRO
The PSR9000 and 9000PRO come equipped with a SCSI port (50-pin, SCSI-2) to connect a standard SCSI hard drive. The PSR9000 and 9000PRO will support most hard drive capacities but will only format up to 8GB.- 1) Turn OFF the keyboard and the external SCSI hard drive.
2) Connect the hard drive to the SCSI port on the PSR9000/9000PRO.
3) Set 'Termination' = ON if the SCSI hard drive is the LAST or ONLY device on the SCSI port.
4) Set the SCSI ID on the SCSI hard drive.
- 5) Turn ON the hard drive.
6) Turn ON the keyboard.
7) Press the [DISK/SCSI] button.
8) Press the [H] LCD button to access the 'FORMAT' page.
9) Press the [C] LCD button repeatedly until 'SCSI' is highlighted.
10) Press the [NEXT] button.
11) Select one of the following options:
- a) Press the [G]
button to select 'YES' from the prompt window. This will execute the formatting procedure. After formatting is complete, the user will be able to enter a name for the newly formatted hard drive.
b) Press the [H] button to select 'NO'. This will abandon the format procedure.

LCD buttons to select the characters of the desired disk name from the alphanumeric list at the bottom of the LCD. 13) Press the '5'
LCD button to enter each alphanumeric selection into the 'NAME' parameter field. 14) When finished, press the '8'
LCD button to select 'END'. This will record the new name for the formatted disk. Related Content:
