Playing Standard MIDI Files on an RM1X

The RM1X will play Standard MIDI Files in format 0 or 1. However, since there are multiple banks of sounds available on the RM1X there must be a Bank Select MSB and a Bank Select LSB message included along with the Program Change message. Without the Bank Select MSB and LSB messages, the RM1X will not play back a Standard MIDI File with the appropriate voices. If the MIDI file does not contain these messages, they can be inserted at the beginning of each track using the EDIT mode. Then, the file can be re-saved with the changes.
    1) Press the [SONG] or [PATTERN] button located in the 'MODE' section.

    2) If necessary, press the [NO -1] or [YES +1] button repeated until the desired Song or Pattern is selected.

    3) If necessary, press the 'Rewind' (Top) button. This 'rewinds' the Song or Pattern to the 'beginning'.

    4) Press and hold down the [TRACK] button and then press one of the numbered white buttons to select the desired Track.

    5) Press the [EDIT] button.

    6) Press the [F3] button for INSERT.

    7) Turn the (F1) 'Function' knob until 'PC' (Program Change) is selected.

    8) Press the [— >] button to select a set of numbers in '000-000-000' under 'BANK'.

NOTE: There are 3 sets of numbers under 'BANK'. Starting from the left, the first set is the MSB, the second is the LSB, and the third is the actual Program Change number. Refer to the RM1X Voice List in the RM1X List Book for a complete list of MSB, LSB and Program Change numbers.

    9) Set the appropriate MSB, LSB or Program Change number using the (F2) 'Function' knob.

    10) Repeat steps 8 and 9 until the MSB, LSB and Program Change numbers are set.

    11) Press the [F4] button to perform the Program Change insert.

    12) Press the [EXIT] button twice to return to the main screen of the Song mode.
