Downloadable Groove and Dynamics Styles
The following information applies to the following models:
Tyros, PSR1100, PSR2100, 9000PRO, CVP103, CVP105, CVP107, CVP109, CVP201, CVP203, CVP205, CVP207, CVP209, CVP700, PSR640, PSR740, PSR1000, PSR2000 and PSR9000.
The Groove function allows the modification of note timing without changing the melodic content of a style. In other words, this feature can modify an 8 Beat Pop Style with a Reggae or Swing groove. In effect, the Style is transformed in to an 8 Beat Reggae Pop Style.
The Dynamics function allows playing intensities to be varied within a Style. In other words, a horn part can be modified so that it increases or decreased with respect to the volume at various intervals.

NOTE: Only the 9000PRO, PSR740, PSR1000, PSR2000 and PSR9000 have Groove and Dynamics functions. However, ALL the Yamaha models listed above can load and play these downloadable styles.
These new styles were derived from factory preset Styles of the PSR9000. They have been modified by the Groove and Dynamics functions. Download them and try them out.

Download Procedure:

Click here to download the 'Groove and Dynamics' Styles. The 'File Download' dialog box will be displayed.

Select the 'Save this program to disk' radio button in the 'File Download' dialog box.
Click the <OK> button. The 'Save As' dialog box will appear.
Select the Windows Desktop as the destination folder.

Click on the drop-down button in the 'Save In:' field and select 'Desktop'. (Desktop appears at the top of the list)
Click the <Save> button. The 'Saving Progress' dialog box will appear until the download is complete.
Extraction Procedure:
-
Double-click on
the 'Groove_Styles.exe' application file that is located on
the Windows Desktop. The 'WinZip Self-Extractor' dialog box
will appear.

Select the Windows
Desktop as the destination folder for the files in the 'Unzip
to folder:' box.

Click the
<Browse> button.
Select 'Desktop'.
(Desktop appears at the top of the list)
Click the <OK>
button.
Close the 'WinZip
Self-Extractor' dialog box by clicking on the <Close>
button.
NOTE: There will be four files in the destination folder: 'sunrise.sty', 'funky.sty', 'spicy.sty' and 'pop.sty'.
Loading Procedure: PSR640 and PSR740

Copy the four Style Files to a floppy disk.
Insert the floppy disk into the keyboard floppy disk drive.
Press the [LOAD] button.
Press the [-/NO] or [+/YES] buttons to select the Style to load.
Press the [NEXT] button.
Press the [-/NO] or [+/YES] buttons to select the User Style memory destination. There are three available. The User Style memory locations are Styles 161 - 163.
Press the [NEXT] button. The 'DISK LOAD---------- EXECUTE' will be displayed.
Press the [+/YES] button to confirm and start the load process.
Select one of the following options:

To finish, press the [EXIT] button.
To load another Style, press the [BACK] button twice and repeat steps 4 - 9.
Loading Procedure: 9000PRO and PSR9000

Copy the four Style Files to a floppy disk.
Insert the floppy disk into the keyboard floppy disk drive.
Press one of the 'Flash Style' buttons, [I] - [VIII].
Press one of the '7' - '8'

LCD buttons to enter the 'Style Manager' menu. Click here to view the 9000PRO and PSR9000 LCD Controls.
Press the [A] LCD button to select 'Load Style into Flash ROM'.
If necessary, press one of the '1' - '2' or LCD buttons to select 'FD' in the 'DEVICE' column.
Press one of the '6' - '7' or LCD buttons to select the Style to load.
Press the [NEXT] button.
Press the '3' - '4' or LCD buttons to select a 'CATEGORY'.
Press the '5' - '6' or LCD buttons to select a 'STYLE'.
NOTE: Selecting an existing Style will overwrite the Style in that location. To avoid overwriting a Style, select a Style location that displays, 'No Data'.
Press the [NEXT] button. The prompt 'Do you want to load?' will be displayed.
Press the [G] LCD button to proceed with the load operation.
Select one of the following options:

To finish, press the [EXIT] button until the main screen is displayed.
To load another Style press the [BACK] button and repeat steps 7 - 13.
Loading Procedure: PSR1000 and PSR2000

Copy the four Style Files to a floppy disk.
Insert the floppy disk into the keyboard floppy disk drive.
Press the [USER] button.
Press the [NEXT] button to view the contents of the floppy disk.
Press one of the LCD buttons located to the left of the screen to select a Style.
Press the '3'
LCD button to COPY the Style.
Press the '7' LCD button to OK the COPY operation.
Press the [BACK] button to return to the 'User Style' page.
Press the '4' LCD button to PASTE the copied Style into the User Style Memory.
To load another Style, repeat steps 4 - 9. Otherwise, the loading process is finished.Loading Procedure: CVP100 Series

Copy the four Style files to a floppy disk.
Insert the floppy disk into the keyboard floppy disk drive. The 'Style File Load' page will be displayed.
Press one of the LCD buttons located to the left of the screen to select a Style.
Press the button located below 'Memory x' to select a User Style memory.
Press the button located below 'LOAD' to start the load process.
Select one of the following options:

To finish, press the [EXIT] button.
To load another Style, repeat steps 3 - 6.
