Using a PLG-100-VH with a MOTIF for Vocoder Effect

Vocoder is a slight misnomer since the definition of a vocoder is: an audio processor that modulates a synthesized sound with a speech or vocal waveform. This effect was made popular by artists such as Stevie Wonder and Earth, Wind and Fire. The PLG100-VH board is a VOCAL HARMONY processor. A vocal harmony processor synthesizes harmonies of the original voice, your voice, based on chords that are played on the keyboard. It's like using your own voice for backup vocals.

The PLG100-VH board effects can be used in either the Pattern or Song mode. The following example is done in the Song mode.
    1) Connect the microphone into 'A/D INPUT L' jack.

    2) Press the [UTILITY] button.

    3) Press the [F2] 'I/O' button, then press the [SF1] 'INPUT' button.

    4) Using cursor buttons, select 'mic' for Mic/Line parameter.

    5) Press the [SONG] button.

    6) Adjust the [GAIN] control knobs on the back of the keyboard so that the voice can be monitored through MOTIF.
