Interfacing a Yamaha MIDI Keyboard with a Laptop Computer
There are several MIDI interfaces available that will enable Yamaha MIDI keyboards to connect with a laptop. Below are listed some third-party products designed for use with laptops and MIDI keyboards.

NOTE: If a Yamaha keyboard is equipped with a TO HOST port, a MIDI Interface may not be required . PC users will need a TO HOST cable that will connect from the SERIAL port on the computer to the TO HOST port on the keyboard. For most Macintosh models, a standard Mac Peripheral cable will be needed to connect from the PRINTER or MODEM ports on the Mac to the TO HOST port on the keyboard. Mac G3 users will need a USB MIDI Interface. Currently, MIDIMAN manufactures a USB MIDI Interface. |
