Creating a Split Keyboard Performance on MOTIF

A Performance memory can be created as a Split, used for playing multiple Voices in separate Note Ranges or zones on the keyboard. This method allows the user to set up different Splits for each Performance memory. Creating a Split Performance:
    1) Press the [PERFORM] button and select a performance memory that you wish to overwrite.

    2) Press the [JOB] button. Display will read ''Initialize Current Performance''.

    3) Press the [ENTER] button.

    4) Press the [INC/YES] button.

    5) Press the [EDIT] button.

    6) Press the Track Select button [1] to select Part 01.

    7) Press the [F1] (VOICE) button.

    8) Press the [SF1] (VOICE) button.

    9) Select the desired 'Bank'.

      a) Press the Down Button cursor button to highlight the 'Bank' selection area on the screen.
      b) Press the [INC/YES] or [DEC/NO] buttons (or the data wheel) to select the desired Bank.

    10) Select the desired 'Voice'.

      a) Press the Down Button cursor button to highlight the 'Voice' selection area on the screen.
      b) Press the [INC/YES] or [DEC/NO] buttons (or the data wheel) to select the desired Voice.

    11) Press the [SF3] (LIMIT) button.

    12) Set the desired 'Note Limit' values to create the zone on the keyboard.

      a) Press the Left Button, Right Button, Up Button or Down Button cursor buttons to highlight the 'NoteLimitH' parameter of the selected part.
      b) Press the [INC/YES] or [DEC/NO] buttons (or the data wheel) to set the 'high-end' Note Limit for the selected part. (C -2 ~ G8)
      c) Press the Down Button cursor button to highlight the 'NoteLimitL' parameter of the selected part.
      d) Press the [INC/YES] or [DEC/NO] buttons (or the data wheel) to set the 'low-end' Note Limit for the selected part. (C -2 ~ G8)

      TIP: By setting multiple Parts with the same Note Limits and others with different Note Limits, a combination ''Split/Layer'' can be created.

    13) Press the desired Track Select button [2] - [4] to select the next Part (Part 02 - Part 04).

    14) Press the [SF1] (VOICE) button.

    15) Using the Left Button, Right Button, Up Button or Down Button cursor buttons, select ''Part Sw'' setting for the current Part.

    16) Press [INC/YES] button to turn the Part Switch ON.

    17) Repeat step 9-16 to configure the other desired Parts of the new Split Performance.
Adding Plug-In Voices to a Split Performance:
    1) Press the [F6] button to select the Plug-In Parts 1-3 screen.

    NOTE: As many as three Plug-In Voices can also be added to the Split Performance.

    2) Press the [SF1] (VOICE) button.

    3) Using the Left Button, Right Button, Up Button or Down Button cursor buttons, select ''Part Sw'' setting for the desired Plug-In Part.

    4) Press [INC/YES] button to turn the Part Switch ON.

    NOTE: A Plug-In Part cannot be turned ON if the board is either the 'Vocal Harmony' or 'XG' PLG board.

    5) Select the desired 'Bank'.

      a) Press the Down Button cursor button to highlight the 'Bank' selection area on the screen.
      b) Press the [INC/YES] or [DEC/NO] buttons (or the data wheel) to select the desired Bank.

    6) Select the desired 'Voice'.

      a) Press the Down Button cursor button to highlight the 'Voice' selection area on the screen.
      b) Press the [INC/YES] or [DEC/NO] buttons (or the data wheel) to select the desired Voice.

    7) Press the [SF3] (LIMIT) button.

    8) Set the desired 'Note Limit' values to create the zone on the keyboard.

      a) Press the Left Button, Right Button, Up Button or Down Button cursor buttons to highlight the 'NoteLimitH' parameter of the selected part.
      b) Press the [INC/YES] or [DEC/NO] buttons (or the data wheel) to set the 'high-end' Note Limit for the selected part. (C -2 ~ G8)
      c) Press the Down Button cursor button to highlight the 'NoteLimitL' parameter of the selected part.
      d) Press the [INC/YES] or [DEC/NO] buttons (or the data wheel) to set the 'low-end' Note Limit for the selected part. (C -2 ~ G8)

    9) Repeat step 2 - 8 to configure the other desired Plug-In Parts of the new Split Performance.
    NOTE: Pressing the [F6] button again will return to the Parts 1 - 4 screen.

Storing a Performance:
    1) Press the [STORE] button.

    2) Press the [ENTER] button.

    3) Press the [INC/YES] button.
