Things to know about independent service agents:
- Yamaha does not control the service charges, the hours of operation, or the turn-around times of independent service agents.
- To qualify for Yamaha warranty service you must provide proof of purchase (with purchase date) to the service agent.
Getting your product serviced by Yamaha: [Top]
- Before Yamaha can receive your product for repair, you must obtain a “Return Authorization (RA) Number”.
- Before calling Yamaha to request an RA number, please have the following information handy:
- Your complete address and telephone number.
- The model number and serial number of the product to be serviced.
- Proof of purchase with purchase date (if the service is to be performed under warranty).
- Name of dealer where the product was purchased.
- Indicate if you want an estimated cost of repair prior to servicing.
- A brief description of the symptom(s) or problem(s) with the product.
- Call and request an RA number for repair. Keep a record of the RA number, and the product’s model number and serial number.

NOTE: Yamaha requires that only one product be returned on an RA number. If more products are to be returned for repair, each product will need its own RA number.

As the product shipper, you are responsible for the safe arrival of products shipped to Yamaha. It is essential that the product be packed properly for shipping. Yamaha is not responsible for damage caused by the shipper, or damage due to insufficient packing.
Damaged packages and product will be promptly reported to you. If you wish to make a claim to the shipper for damages, you must ask the shipper to inspect the package and product. In that event Yamaha will hold the package until it is inspected.
NOTE: Repairing damages to product incurred during shipment to Yamaha is not covered under the Yamaha Product Warranty, and is typically very costly.
Yamaha is not responsible for product lost during shipping, product not received by Yamaha, and product shipped to addresses other than the shipping address listed on the RA.
Yamaha recommends using shippers that provide a tracking system for customers’ use and proof of delivery notification.
- Carefully pack the product for shipping to Yamaha.
- Use the original box and packing materials if possible. Seal the box securely with packing tape.
- If you do not have the original box and packing materials, use a sturdy shipping box and at least 2 inches of bubble-wrap or padding around the product. If Styrofoam peanuts are used, seal the product in a plastic bag first. Seal the box securely with packing tape.
- Attach or enclose a sheet of paper with your name, address, phone number, and a detailed description of the symptom(s) or problem(s) with the product. Also attach or enclose a copy of the proof of purchase (do not send the original!).
- Clearly indicate the RA number on the shipping box.
- Ship the product to Yamaha:
IMPORTANT: Please do not ship your product via U.S. Mail (U.S. Postal Service).
- For smaller products, Yamaha recommends using UPS or Federal Express.
- For larger products, use a reliable transport (trucking) company.
- Insure the product for an amount equal to its replacement cost.
- Keep the shipper’s receipt and record the tracking number.
- Ship the product to the address shown on the RA.

- Yamaha Service only uses genuine Yamaha replacement parts.
- Under no circumstances will Yamaha Service modify a product from original factory specifications.
- Customers may order spare parts, an owner’s manual, or a schematic diagram of their product from Yamaha.
