The new Yamaha drumline will benefit CJP's JazzAlive program.

BUENA PARK, Calif. — Yamaha Band & Orchestral Division is pleased to announce that it has provided a brand-new Yamaha drumline to the Chicago Jazz Philharmonic, an internationally respected orchestra defined by its cross collaborations in jazz, classical, and other musical genres. The new Field-Corps Series drumline, consisting of four marching snare drums, two sets of marching toms, four marching bass drums and carriers will be a focal part of CJP's JazzAlive program, an enrichment program that focuses on teaching life and academic skills through music and the arts in Chicago schools.

Founded in 2004 by Artistic Director Orbert Davis, the Chicago Jazz Philharmonic's main mission is to present high quality musical performances and music education programs that bridge gaps in genre, artistry and diversity. Education is a central and imperative piece of the widely-respected ensemble. CJP's programs reflect its commitment to education and development of future musicians and concert audiences.
