Yamaha Introduces O.N.E. Systems
— Open Network Expansion Systems based on mLAN Connectivity Technology —

BUENA PARK, CA (January 23, 2004) — Up until now, you had two choices when trying to put together a computer-based recording studio. One was to buy components from different manufacturers and hoped they would work together as a viable system, and the other was to buy a proprietary system that only worked with a single companys software and hardware. The first choice left you wondering how to integrate all those different products, and the second left you wondering what happened to freedom of choice.

mLAN-based O.N.E. (Open Network Expansion) SYSTEMS take the hassle out of configuring a computer music studio – simply choose software and hardware from more than 43 companies with the assurance that it will all connect and work properly.

Some O.N.E. SYSTEMS can be made from gear you already own by adding an mLAN expansion card to a product. For example, adding an mLAN card to a Yamaha Motif ES transforms it into an audio interface, a MIDI interface and hardware-accelerated DSP effects processor for your computer DAW. You can then connect a mic or a guitar to the Motifs A/D inputs and record to your DAW software. The Motifs insert effects can also be used to process the signal – select up to 16 channels on the Motif ES to be simultaneously recorded directly to the DAW. Larger O.N.E. SYSTEMS can include the Yamaha 01X, the Motif ES or the new i88X.

O.N.E SYSTEMS can be expanded using additional mLAN products from Yamaha as well as mLAN products from other manufacturers, including converters and preamps from Apogee, Tube Preamps from Presonus and effects processing from Kurzweil.

O.N.E. SYSTEMS provide comprehensive software support on Windows XP, Apple OS9.2 and OSX platforms. This includes full support for Cubase (SX/SL), Nuendo (version 1.61 and higher), Sonar (2.2 and higher), Logic (Platinum 5.3 and higher), Digital Performer (3.1 and higher), Yamaha SQ01 v2 and many other applications
