The new Stage Custom Advantage Split Lug sports separate lugs, beautiful gloss natural birch finish and 8-ply shells of birch, Philippine mahogany, and falkata. Bass drums are fully 9-plys and 17" in diameter. YESS nodal mounts are standard on all toms and floor toms, and Yamaha's pro triple tom holder and single holder are included for rack and suspended "floor toms." The hardware package includes a straight and a boom cymbal stand, a hi-hat stand, snare stand, and foot pedal. With a crisp, matching wood snare, the Advantage is a pro kit in disguise.

Birch & Philippine Mahogany Shells
An outer layer of birch and an inner layer of falkata are combined with carefully selected Philippine mahogany plies and sealed together with our exclusive Air Seal System. This unique method ensures a perfectly round shell, which is a crucial factor in achieving superior tone quality and ensuring durability. Toms and floor toms feature an 8-ply construction, while the bass drum utilizes 9-plies for added tone and durability.

17" Deep Bass Drums
The depth of both the 22" and 20" bass drums has been increased from 16" to a deeper 17" depth. The added inch delivers greater bottom end and density to the bass drum's sound.

Separate Lugs
The separate type lugs utilized on the Stage Custom Advantage Split Lug are attached to the shell by bolts at two points. The lugs incorporate springless lug bolts that keep the tension rod from loosening during performance.

Mounted Toms and Floor Toms Equipped with YESS Mounts
Long found on our high-end drum kits like the Maple Custom, our original YESS (Yamaha Enhanced Sustain System) mounting system is now standard equipment on the Stage Custom Drums. This rod clamp system allows attachment of the drum to the tom holder without the need of a hole in the drum shell for the rod to pass through. The YESS clamp is attached to the shell at the nodal point with two bolts so as to allow the shell to vibrate freely without degrading the shell's dynamic range and sustain. The nodal point is the location on a shell with the least amount of vibration allowing for the mount to have minimal affect to the resonance of the shell.

Ball Clamp & Triple Tom Holder
This round ball clamp has long been a fundamental part of Yamaha System Drums. Made of super-hard resin, the ball is held firmly in place with a steel plate and large wing bolt. While providing ease of operation, this system also delivers total freedom in setting and superior stability.

The Stage Custom Advantage also utilizes the same triple tom holder as found on our high-end drums. The triple tom holder accommodates two toms as well as a cymbal holder to provide a wide variety of set up possibilities. Just as in the utilization of our YESS system, the addition of these two features delivers added quality and value to the Stage Custom Advantage.

Matching Wood Snare Drum
Wood snare drums are created with our original Air Seal System using the same quality materials as found in our other drums. The snare drum is available in the set's matching colors, plus a natural gloss finish. The standard 14" x 5.5" size offers the most flexible snare drum for all kinds of musical situations.

New Hardware
Manufactured in Yamaha's own motorcycle factory, the newly designed hardware supplied with the Stage Custom series is made to the same specifications as our professional quality hardware. Light in weight, this high quality durable hardware stands up to rigorous play. Each part is extremely reliable and provides excellent operation.
