The Yamaha Music Laboratory is an integrated system that consists of the MLC-100 console, teacher's keyboard, up to sixteen student keyboards, headsets with microphone and student call boxes. With its unrivaled flexibility, the MLC-100 lets you easily solo or combine students into groups just as you wish. In addition, two-way communication between you and the student is just a button-push away.
Although the MLC-100 will function with virtually any manufacturer's electronic keyboard, we recommend the Yamaha Clavinova digital piano. In addition to assuring complete plug-and-play compatibility, the Clavinova offers standard features that are unmatched for piano realism. For example, the AE (Action Effect) and GH (Graded Hammer Effect) keyboards inherit over a century of Yamaha's experience in building fine acoustic pianos. Designed and built on the same principles as a traditional grand piano, the AE and GH keyboards have weighted touch and dynamic control which are essential to developing refined piano skills. Sound quality and realism is unrivaled thanks to Hi-Resolution AWM (Advanced Wave Memory) sound generation. AWM takes samples (digital recordings) of an actual acoustic grand piano, and processes them according to the player's touch. Attack, volume, tone, decay, resonance and modulation are all varied according to the velocity of each key played resulting in a sound all but indistinguishable from an acoustic piano.
