| The "Orchestra" |
The Disklavier is an exceptional Yamaha acoustic piano. Its MIDI abilities take the music even farther. When you add the KMU50 your performance is accompanied by an entire band. |
| Voices and Drum Kits |
The KMU50 features an amazing total of 737 outstanding voices and 22 drum kits. |
| Multi-Timbral and Polyphonic |
16-Part multi-timbral capacity and 32-note polyphony. This means 16 different instruments can play up to 32 notes simultaneously. |
| Versatile |
| Versatile multi-effects with three independent effect sections. |
| Operation Modes |
Four operation modes for optimum compatability with virtually all kinds of music data, including General MIDI and the new Yamaha XG format. |
| Compose Music or Play Along |
You can use the Disklavier and the KMU50 to compose music or play along with existing General MIDI or XG software. Or you can just listen while the Disklavier plays the piano and the high-quality instruments in the KMU50 play everything else. |
| Studio Quality Effects |
Effects are much more than "icing on the cake," they're absolutely essential in music production. The multi-effects of the KMU50 provide a wide range of sound processing controls and a flexible system for connecting them. |
| Yamaha XG Format (Extended General MIDI) |
Provides enhancements and added capabilities to handle increasingly sophiscated demands of computer music. While maintaining full compatability with General MIDI, XG vastly extends and enhances the power of GM by significantly expanding the amount and types of available voices and variations. Enabling far greater expressive control over voice and effect parameters with an added set of MIDI controllers which provides compatability of song data extending well into the future. |
| PianoSoft Plus Libraries |
PianoSoft Plus is a growing library of prerecorded computer disk performances with full orchestra accompaniment. PianoSoft Plus disks are designed specifically to be played on the Disklavier. The Disklavier plays all the piano parts and the KMU50 plays everything else. PianoSoft Plus disks cover all musical styles, including the most popular classical, jazz, pop and Broadway hits of all time. |
