| A device made by Iomega® Corporation which writes digital data to a type of removeable media called a Jaz® cartridge. Currently, Jaz drives are available in two capacities; one which uses 1 GB cartridges, and one which uses 2 GB cartridges. The Jaz® drive can be used with both Mac and PC computers, and is available with USB or SCSI connections. Jaz® drives are used as a convenient way to store large amounts of data (large digital audio files, for example) from a computer or an electronic musical instrument that has the proper connection. If a smaller (and more inexpensive) memory capacity is needed, Iomega makes two different Zip® drives; one which uses 100 MB cartridges, and one which uses 250 MB cartridges. |
