Shades of Time - Sharon Hurvitz

Uploaded On:  Thursday November 14, 2013

Sharon Hurvitz, age 14 from the Harmony Music World Institute in Fullerton, CA, performs her original compositions "Shades of Time." When writing this piece, Hurvitz focused on finding her own voice, while drawing from the Impressionistic musical model. As a result, each of the three movements, "Cappricio," "Toccata" and "Rondeau," have their own distinct character. Hurvitz is accompanied by Viviana Cumplido-Wilson (flute), Paula Engerer (oboe), Scott Zimmer (alto saxophone), and Eric Ludwig (bassoon) for this performance. The Junior Original Concert is a program through the Yamaha Music School where students perform their own original compositions. This uncut, unedited performance was previously recorded at the 2013 Western Junior Original Concert on June 16, 2013.
