Prelude #2
- Anthony Molinaro

Uploaded On:  Tuesday December 31, 2013

In this presentation, Anthony Molinaro discusses ways in which one can work towards greater independence of the hands resulting in a better jazz and blues feel. Molinaro utilizes George Gershwin's "Prelude #2," the second prelude from the set of Three Preludes, during his teaching - which was described by the composer as "a sort of blues lullaby." Molinaro is the 1997 winner of the prestigious Naumburg International Piano Competition and an Assistant Professor of Music at Loyola University Chicago. As one of the most versatile musicians of his generation, he has appeared as soloist with over 50 symphony orchestras, headlined at leading jazz festivals and clubs in the U.S. and Europe, and released several recordings featuring his own compositions and arrangements.
