Twenty-one performers from around the world converged in Minnesota in early July for the 2013 Junior Piano-e-Competition. Costa Rica resident Daniel Eras, began piano lessons at the age of six, and continues his studies at the Castella Conservatory and the Department of Piano at the Institute of Superior Arts. He has received honors including first place in the American Fine Arts Festival in the Romantic Music Competition, and second place in the 33rd Annual Piano Competition of Ithaca College School of Music. Enjoy his Semi-Finals performance, which includes the works of Felix Mendelssohn, Sergei Prokofiev, and Alexander Scriabin. This uncut, unedited performance was previously recorded at Newhall Auditorium on the campus of Shattuck-St. Mary's School in Faribault, MN on Wednesday, July 10, 2013.
