Twenty-one performers from around the world converged in Minnesota in early July for the 2013 Junior Piano-e-Competition. Great Britian resident Yuanfan Yang, who began his piano career at the age of six at the Horsforth Music Centre in Leeds, completed the program at age eight and achieved a Diploma of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music by age ten. He has recently received awards including first prize in the Keyboard Category of the BBC Young Musician competition 2012 and the 2010 RNCM James Mottram International Piano Competition. Yang has also performed at the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall and the Manchester Bridgewater Hall. Enjoy his Semi-Finals performance, which earned him Third Prize, featuring the works of Felix Mendelssohn, Sergei Prokofiev and one of his original compositions.
