Monterey County Fairgrounds
2000 Fairground Road
Monterey, CA 93940
Grammy nominated artist Uri Caine has established himself as a talented pianist across multiple genres through his time spent performing with his jazz trio, his electric Bedrock Trio, and his Ensemble--in which he performs arrangements of Mahler, Wagner, Beethoven, Bach and Schumann. Growing up in Philadelphia, Caine studied with Bernard Peiffer, and played in bands led by artists such as Philly Joe Jones, Hank Mobley, Mickey Roker and more. He has also worked with groups led by Don Byron, Dave Douglas, John Zorn, Clark Terry, the Woody Herman Band and many more. With his most recent jazz trio, featuring bassist John Hebert and drummer Ben Perowsky, Caine recorded Siren--just one of the many recordings Caine has produced in his career. Caine continues to receive commissions to perform internationally, and performs regularly at jazz and classic music festivals around the world. This is the third of three sets. This uncut, unedited performance was previously recorded at the Monterey Jazz Festival on Friday, September 20, 2013.
