Dave Douglas, a two-time Grammy nominated jazz musician, is one of the most acclaimed and original trumpeters and composers of his generation. He has received a multitude of awards and honors as a trumpeter, composer and jazz artist including the Guggenheim Fellowship and "Artist of the Year" by organizations such as the New York Jazz Awards, JazzTimes and the Italian Jazz Critics' Society. He began his solo career in 1993, and has since released over twenty-eight recordings, including seven critically acclaimed albums for Bluebird/RCA. In 2005, Douglas expanded his career further by launching his own record label, Greenleaf Music. Through his label, Douglas has had the pleasure of releasing albums with his Quintet. This uncut, unedited performance was previously recorded at the Monterey Jazz Festival on Friday, September 20, 2013.
