Twenty-one performers from around the world converged in Minnesota in early July for the 2013 e-Piano Junior Competition. First Prize Winner Eric Lu, who has been playing piano since the age of five, has won numerous honors throughout his young career. Some of these include his first gold medal at age six, first prize at the 12th Ettlingen International Competition for Young Pianists in Germany, and winner of the concerto competition at the Walnut Hill Music School Summer Music Festival. He also made his orchestral debut at age eleven with the Boston Civic Symphony Orchestra, and performed Chopin Concerto No. 1 with the Wellesley Symphony Orchestra during their 2012-2013 season. Enjoy his Semi-Finals performance, which includes the works of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Felix Mendelssohn, and Johannes Brahms. This uncut, unedited performance was previously recorded at Newhall Auditorium on the campus of Shattuck-St. Mary's School in Faribault, MN on Wednesday, July 10, 2013.
