Known as a "singer's singer," Tierney Sutton's superb band includes musical luminaries, pianist Christian Jacob, drummer Ray Brinker, bassists Kevin Axt and Trey Henry. For over 20 years, this spectacular band has stood out in the crowd as a unique unit musically and from a business standpoint. Their CDs have consistently topped US Jazz radio charts and their latest release, The Sting Variations, was nominated for a 2017 GRAMMY for Best Jazz Vocal Album. Tierney has taught for over a decade at USC's Thornton School of Music and spent six years as the Vocal Department Head at the Los Angeles College of Music in Pasadena, CA. She can be heard in numerous television soundtracks and commercials including BMW, Green Giant, Yoplait, and Coke. This rebroadcast performance was originally recorded live on September 22, 2012, from the Monterey Jazz Festival.
