Keyboard Kollege Fits New School With Clavinovas

When Sacramento-based retailer Music Exchange decided to solidify its network of outstanding area teachers and form a completely new keyboard school, there were a lot of decisions to be made—but selecting the right instruments was an easy choice. Today, Keyboard Kollege in Orangevale, CA is stocked exclusively with 26 Clavinova digital pianos, to the pleasure of teachers and students alike.

“Using the digital piano enhances learning,” says Keyboard Kollege Educational Director Ronna Moon. “Not only does it happen faster, but it’s so much fun. The broad spectrum of music is addressed, not only the piano part but the orchestration.” In addition, she notes, the local teachers recruited to staff the school were all dedicated Clavinova owners already. “It was a perfect situation,” she concludes.

With nine full-time teachers and approximately 100 students ranging from 18 months to adulthood, Keyboard Kollege offers classes for five students at a time, using tested strategies such as Alfred’s Music for Little Mozarts and the Hal Leonard Method for each appropriate age group. Each of the school’s five classrooms has five Clavinova digital pianos, representing a mix of CVP103, CVP105, CVP107, and CLP series models. There is also a Clavinova CVP700 in the main reception room.
