New CVP100 Series Joins The Award-Winning Clavinova® Digital Piano Line The newest additions to Yamahas highly praised Clavinova® digital piano line offer the perfect way to spark impromptu musical gatherings with family and friends. And with many new and enhanced features, including exciting karaoke capabilities, Sweet Voices, Pitch Bend/Glide, and built-in accompaniment styles, the new Clavinova CVP100 series CVP103, CVP103M, CVP105, CVP107, and CVP109 gives performers unprecedented opportunities for creative expression. Uncompromising quality and originality is the Clavinova trademark. A five-time winner of Musical Merchandise Review magazines annual Dealers Choice Awards, Clavinova digital pianos were recently voted 1998 Digital Piano Line of the Year by music retailers nationwide. Now, the five new models join this acclaimed family. Clavinova digital pianos have a well-deserved reputation as being an instrument that is fun for the entire family. In fact, singing along with a Clavinova performance reaches a new level of enjoyment now that Yamaha has equipped the CVP107 and CVP109 models with a Video Output function, allowing users to connect the Clavinova directly to a television set. Song lyrics from select karaoke disks are easily viewed on the monitor, allowing the entire family to join in group sing-alongs. Singers will also appreciate the Vocal Harmony feature included in these models, which adds up to two harmony parts to a single singing voice with incredibly lifelike results. Sweet Voices, new to the CVP line, takes expressivity to new heights for several popular solo instrument sounds, including trumpet, tenor sax, alto sax, clarinet, flute, and cello. With these Sweet Voices, Yamaha has allocated additional memory for longer and multiple samples, which provide stunningly realistic sound characteristics of each instrument. For example, when performing the Sweet Flute sound, the player can accurately recreate the hard strike and overblow sounds that occur naturally when playing an actual flute. Pitch Bend, featured on the CVP107 and 109, and Glide, available on all new models, add another dynamic to the performance. When Pitch Bend is engaged, the Clavinovas right pedal can be used to bend notes, particularly useful in recreating instrument sounds such as slide trombone, steel guitar, and harmonica. The Glide feature, triggered by depressing the left pedal, allows the user to initiate a speed-controlled bend. The creative possibilities of the new Clavinova CVP100 series are virtually unlimited. Built-in accompaniment styles cover almost any musical genre imaginable. The CVP109 boasts 157 styles, and the other models are similarly endowed with more than 125 styles. There are also hundreds more available on Yamaha Style Disks. Better still, each style has four variations plus intros, endings, fills and fade-in/fade-out for a really natural feel to the accompaniment.
