Winter NAMM ’99 a Success
(continued from page 2)

Over the years, Yamaha has developed innovative ideas and programs that demonstrate the company’s commitment to retail support programs. The new CLP CD ROM, “Yamaha Clavinova Digital Pianos: Interactive Product Tour,” represents the next generation of Yamaha CLP interactive CD ROMs. The CD ROM gives people an entertaining way to discover the Clavinova without any pressure. The CD ROM allows potential buyers to take a very personalized tour, zeroing in on the features and benefits that most interest them with the help of their home computer.

A highlight of the NAMM show was the popular noontime concerts of original compositions written and performed by six composers, ages eight to 16, who were specially selected from around the country by Yamaha Music Education Systems. YMES, a comprehensive six-year curriculum, emphasizes singing, keyboard activity, and creativity for students as young as four years old. The young composers, who participate in the prestigious Junior Original Concerts (JOC), were met with enthusiastic crowds that gathered for the daily concerts.

Finally, to show appreciation and gratitude to its dealers, Yamaha hosted “An Evening on the Terrace” on Friday, January 29th. Attended by more than 1,000 Yamaha dealers and guests, the appreciation reception featured an incredible lineup of talented artists such as David Foster and Richard Marx.
